August 2019 - Traffic and Highways Bylaw No. 1400

Mackenzie Avenue Parking

Bylaw Compliance Officers will be proactively enforcing parking in the downtown core. This enforcement directive is due to increases in complaints from the public, business owners, visitors, and to improve pedestrian safety.

The focus of the campaign includes (but is not limited to) enforcement of:

  • Maximum parking time limits as set out on signage ($100.00 or $50.00 if paid within 30 days);
  • Parking facing the wrong direction ($100 or $50.00 if paid within 30 days);
  • Impeding a crosswalk ($100.00 or $50.00 if paid within 30 days);
  • Impeding a fire hydrant ($300.00 or $150.00 if paid within 30 days); and
  • Parking at the yellow curb ($100.00 or $50.00 if paid within 30 days)

Pay attention to signage, yellow curbs, crosswalks, fire hydrants, and time limits. Do you know where the free 24 hour parking lots are? 24 hour parking lots are located on either side of Grizzly Plaza, along the track on Victoria Avenue, in the parking lot on First Street East, in the parking lots on Campbell Avenue in front and behind the Community Centre, as well as the Parking lot at Centennial ball fields. NO CAMPING is permitted in any of the 24 hours parking lots!

Please be respectful of parking spaces designated for persons with physical disabilities.
