Winter - Traffic & Highways Bylaw No. 1400

Bylaw Compliance Officers will be proactively enforcing parking regulations during the winter months. The winter season is a busy one for parking enforcement, do your part to make our roads easier to travel for everyone.

The focus of the campaign includes (but is not limited to) enforcement of:

  • Parking over 24 hours on any city street is against City Bylaws ($100.00 or $50.00 if paid within 30 days); 
  • Parked obstructing snow removal efforts ($100.00 or $50.00 if paid within 30 days);
  • Maximum parking time limits as set out on signage ($100.00 or $50.00 if paid within 30 days);
  • Parked facing the wrong direction ($100 or $50.00 if paid within 30 days);
  • Parked impeding a crosswalk ($100.00 or $50.00 if paid within 30 days);
  • Parked impeding a fire hydrant ($300.00 or $150.00 if paid within 30 days); and 
  • Parked at the yellow curb ($100.00 or $50.00 if paid within 30 days)

Pay attention to signage, yellow curbs, crosswalks, fire hydrants, and time limits as indicated by signage. 

Do you know where the free 24 hour parking lots are? 24 hour parking lots are located on either side of Grizzly Plaza, along the track on Victoria Avenue, in the parking lot on First Street East, in the parking lots on Campbell Avenue in front and behind the Community Centre, as well as the Parking lot at Centennial ball fields. NO CAMPING is permitted in any of the 24 hour parking lots!
