Revelstoke’s City Council is responsible for governing the City of Revelstoke, British Columbia. This includes considering staff recommendations and public opinion to make informed decisions.
Council meetings
Revelstoke’s City Council meets twice a month in Council Chambers on Tuesday afternoons. You can view our council meeting calendar, read the meeting agendas, and, as all Council and Committee meetings are public, you can join us in-person at Council Chambers. Council is responsibe for:
- Staying informed and up to date on the interests and well-being of the public and the City
- Establishing City goals
- Ensuring that the City's operations are transparent
- Engaging in long-term planning for the City
- Ensuring that the community is aware of the City's goals, performance and achievements
- Selecting the Chief Administrative Officer to direct City staff
The Mayor is responsibility for:
- Providing leadership to Council
- Chair Council meetings
- Act as a spokesperson for the City of Revelstoke
